Whether you have previous experience, or are new to the industry, this 3.5 day training led by experienced industry professionals will prepare you for the exciting and fast-paced world of production and working on set.
Workshop is limited to 25 participants.

This immersive bootcamp experience guides participants through the fundamentals of working in the industry and on a set, including script breakdowns, script continuity, who’s who on a call sheet, preparing for a day’s work, chain of command and other key production assistant roles. Once the fundamental foundation is set, the training moves on to a mock shoot where participants will have hands-on experience in several key film departments, and train directly with industry professionals.
This boot camp will provide trainees with:
Hands-on training experience in departments which include camera, sound, grip and electric, art, costume/wardrobe, hair/makeup, script supervision, and production
Basic Set 101 instruction so that graduates feel prepared to work on an actual set
Techniques for collaborating and working with actors, directors, and other departments
An understanding of departmental roles and operations
Rental order fulfillment, truck load-in/out, camera logs, departmental particulars, video village set up and breakdown, laying of dolly track, handling coils and cables, operating a boom, prop continuity, and more
Stockade Works is particularly seeking diverse members of the community and women who are typically precluded from jobs in the film production sector.
INSTRUCTORS:
Ethan Palmer’s recent cinematography work can be seen in PORCUPINE (2021), starring Jena Malone, and TED K (Berlin 2021), starring Sharlto Copley. He also photographed GOAT (Sundance 2016), starring Nick Jonas and James Franco, BREAKING A MONSTER (SXSW 2015), STAND CLEAR OF THE CLOSING DOORS (Tribeca 2013), and KING KELLY (SXSW 2012). As a partner at SeeThink Films, he produced the cult classic DARKON (SXSW 2006), a documentary on role-players, and the feature documentary ALICE NEEL (2007). Ethan graduated from NYU’s Gallatin School in 2002 with a concentration in Film Studies and Comparative Religion and lives in NY’s Hudson Valley.
Ted Lehane has been a Grip in film and television for over 25 years , and a proud member of the Motion Picture Studio Mechanics IATSE Local 52 for 16 years. Working primarily in New York, but also in Los Angeles and several films on locations around the US and Me xico ; Ted has been the Key Grip on over 22 motion pictures including ”High Art”, ” 5 Flights Up” and Sofia Coppola’s soon to be released ”On the Rocks”. He has also been the Key Grip on ”Person of Interest” (Season 2) and the Key Grip on all si x seasons of CBS ”Madam Secretary”. Ted is also the co-owner of Empire State Grips, a grip and camera support rental company.
Ty Chennault has over 35 years experience working in the film business. Ty has worked his way up through the electrical department on projects ranging from no-budget independent films to the largest projects imaginable. Highlights include Powder, Interview with the Vampire, Batman, The Dead Don’t Die, and the Saturday Night Live Film Unit.
Courtney Denk is a 2nd AC known for her work on I ‘m Thinking of Ending Things (2020), Fury of the Fist and the Golden Fleece ( 2018) and Mohawk (2017).
Annie Simeone Morales is a New York based Production Designer working in the Film and TV industry since 2007. Her background in ceramics, sculpture, classical painting, art history and science bring a multidisciplinary approach and distinctive eye to her set designs. Her design work can be seen in the 2019 SXSW premiered comedic-thriller, VILLAINS for BRON Studios, the feature adaptation of the period musical, HELLO AGAIN as well as the psychological drama, BRAID, which premiered at the 2018 Tribeca Film Festival, and she most recently designed the UNTITLED RAY ROMANO PROJECT. She also recently served as the Art Director on Ryan Murphy’s feature film THE BOYS IN THE BAND, as well as the Netflix series DASH & LILY.
Marisia Moreno - A California Native from a large and passionate family; Marisia Moreno’s journey to the East Coast and ultimately the Director’s Guild has proven to be unconventional. From her youth as an aspiring athlete, to Production Assistant, through the ranks to ultimately First Assistant Directing, Marisia has blended elements from all portions of her life into shaping her professional identity as a competitive player and leader within the film community. Her firsthand experience navigating the intersectionality of race, gender, and sexual orientation in media has placed her in a unique position in this rapidly changing professional landscape; specifically advocating for a more diverse workplace. With over ten years of Film and Television experience on productions such as Boardwalk Empire, The Wolf of Wall Street, I Know This Much is True, Inventing Anna & Dickinson Marisia Moreno’s experience lies not only in the prestige of her credits, but also in the deep personal relationships her work has allowed her to foster.
Production sound mixer and VO artist Carl Welden is a longtime veteran of theater, radio, TV, film and live event production. whether he’s onstage, backstage, in studios, or on location, Carl is grateful to be able to make a living with microphones throughout northeast (but especially at home in the Catskills and Hudson Valley). His first of many collaborations with Stockade Works was in 2016 and he’s delighted to return as a facilitator for this Summer 2021 Boot Camp. Vincent Carnevale is a Hudson Valley-based Digital Imaging Technician and Camera Assistant. He is a member of IATSE Local 600. He has worked jobs ranging from feature films, to big budget commercials, to fashion, and everything in between. Vincent has a B.S. in Radio/TV Production from SUNY New Paltz with a minor in Computer Science.
Lisa Padovani is a five time primetime Emmy nominee and a two time Costume Design Guild winner whose work has contributed to some of the most memorable characters on screen. Her many film and television credits include “FAR FROM HEAVEN”, “’I’M NOT THERE”, ”THE DEPARTED”, “SHUTTER ISLAND”,” MAD MEN”, “BOARDWALK EMPIRE”, “GOTHAM”,” DIRTY DANCING” and “SNEAKY PETE”.
Andrea Greer is a Script Supervisor with over 25 years of experience in the film and television industry. She has worked on various film and TV projects, most recently Dickinson for Apple TV. Some of her network television experience includes; The Blacklist: Redemption, The Path, The Slap, OZ and Emmy Award winning mini-series The Corner for HBO. A few of her feature film credits include; Top Five, Step Up 3D, Notorious, The Inevitable Defeat of Mister & Pete, Summer of Sam, and the cult classic Belly. She has worked with notable directors such as Spike Lee, Chris Rock, John Chu, Barry Levison, Lisa Cholodenko, George Tillman, Jr, Roxanne Dawson and Ken Olin. Andrea has conducted Script Supervising workshops (So You Want to be a Script Supervisor) at One on One Productions and Digital Film Academy. She is a former member of the Board of Directors and Chair of Trustees for IATSE, Local 161. Andrea has served as a Juror for CineBanneker, the Brooklyn Public High Schools Film Festival in Brooklyn, NY. Andrea was named as one of the finalists in BET’s Rap It Up/ Black AIDS Institute Short Screenplay contest for the screenplay, Once. She wrote and produced a
short film, Call Me On It, which aired on BET and toured with the Visual AIDS film series. In addition, she has an essay accepted for publication in the upcoming anthology HBCU Experience-The Book Volume 2.
