โStockade Works has been a blessing to my career by devoting so much attention to detail in my professional development. I have been supported non-stop since being invited into their programming. Myra French | 2024 Crew Boot Camp trainee
โStockade Works offered me a golden opportunity and a solution to the film industry catch 22 - you need some experience to be hired but, how can you get that experience without being on the job? Boot Camp provided education, hands -on learning and a boost in confidence which can turn dreams into reality.โ
Our 2024 Trainings:
2024 Highlights
VETS ON SET
In April 2024, Stockade Works piloted our first โVets on Setโ program, a hands-on 3.5-day training, led by experienced industry professionals, to equip 25 military vets and military community members with the skills needed to succeed in the dynamic and fast-paced realm of production and on-set operations. Military veterans already possess many of the qualities that make for a fantastic film & TV crew memberโand the workshop proved just that. After an emotional and transformational long weekend, both instructors and participants were inspired by themselves and one another. One veteran was even hired that same week by an instructor as an Art PA on a film shooting in Newburgh.
Assistant Costume Designer Workshop: In partnership with Local USA 829, IATSE, Reel Works, and Stockade Works and supported by funding through the New York Entertainment Workforce Diversity Grant Program, Warner Bros. Discovery delivered an intensive 3-week training program in August 2024 to prepare eight aspiring Film & Television professionals to work on set as Assistant Costume Designers. By strengthening the skilled crew base across New York State, the program supported the growth of the Film & Television industry and benefitted local businesses and workers, aligning with New York Stateโs economic development objectives.

SWAY
Stockade Works Access Youth (SWAY) launched in 2023 as our first-ever in-school youth program, with the SWAY pilot serving 60 students over 4 classes at Ellenville High School and training them in the fundamentals of working in Film & TV production careers. Expanding in its second year to include additional modules, Stockade Works is back at Ellenville for the 2024-2025 school year providing over 100 high schoolers the opportunity to explore their own potential for careers in media and other creative fields.

MRCโs Poker Face
For the Behind the Camera Initiative, Stockade Works teamed up with MRC Entertainment for a second year to offer a unique paid fellowship program for three NYC-based young adults to work full-time for 12 weeks on the set of Poker Face, a procedural Television Mystery-Drama. With recruitment and career services provided in partnership with Reel Works, the selected trainees received the invaluable opportunity to experience and work in multiple film crew departments on a rotating basis. The goal of the MRC Behind the Camera Initiative is to offer underrepresented talent onsite learning and mentorship across MRC TV Productions, providing people from diverse backgrounds with a strong foundation for professional development in the industry.
We need your support as we dive into 2025!
