Camera Department Intensive

LOCATION: Kingston, NY


Training includes a day long camera training seminar with a certified instructor and a supervised review of all equipment and accessories, batteries, lenses, etc. The intensive culminates in a 2-day commercial tabletop shoot including camera department and production assistant on-the- job training.

This workshop and shoot includes five Stockade Works trainees. They have all previously trained with us and were selected for this intensive based on their interest and skills in the camera department.


INSTRUCTORS:

 

John M. Tyson’s love of film and storytelling led him to the world of filmmaking at an early age. John started in the backstage of Philadelphia’s premeire theater scene while studying at the Walnut Street Theater and the The Wilma Theater. Since then, John has worked in the film business in many capacities. Editor, Screenwriter, Producer, and as one of the top 1st Assistant Directors on a broad range of projects including feature films, TV series, commercials, promos, documentaries, and PSAs. John Tyson graduated with a Master of Arts from The London International Film School and is a member of the Directors Guild of America. He has been bonded through Film Finances and is available for work worldwide.

 

Aaron Phillips is a versatile and experienced Cinematographer whose credits span commercial, documentary, music video, TV and narrative work. His passion for cinematography has taken him around the world to film, including personal favorites Japan, Lebanon, Sri Lanka, Iceland, South Africa, Bangladesh and Cuba. With expertise in all formats from film to digital, he is equally nimble with small documentary crews to managing large feature and television crews.

 

Vincent Carnevale is a Hudson Valley-based Digital Imaging Technician and Camera Assistant. He is a member of IATSE Local 600. He has worked jobs ranging from feature films, to big budget commercials, to fashion, and everything in between. Vincent has a B.S. in Radio/TV Production from SUNY New Paltz with a minor in Computer Science.
