INSTRUCTORS:

Mark Pollard is a film veteran with over 25 years of experience creating graphics for the screen. He has worked with directors such as Steven Soderberg, Wes Anderson, and Mel Brooks and on shows including ‘The Bourne Ultimatum’,  ‘Moonrise Kingdom’ and ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’. He lives in The Hudson Valley.

Genetically pre-disposed to art direction, Sarah Burt worked for many years in the film business, decorating sets, propping actors, keeping continuity and creating graphics for props and set dressing before throwing the glamour aside and setting down roots in the Hudson Valley. She designs and illustrates award winning books, engaging digital courses and is a creative consultant for artistic & educational clients. Sarah lives in Ulster County with her family and a whole lot of well designed stuff.

Renate Spiegler works independently as a prop maker specializing in period appropriate newspapers, magazines, documents, and hand-assembled packaging props. She grew up in the Hudson Valley and has a background in fine and applied arts after graduating with a BFA from Pratt Institute. The work she enjoys most is research-heavy and history-based such as seen on Boardwalk Empire, Joseph Pultizer – Voice of the People, Godfather of Harlem, and The Report.

Leah Spencer is a Graphic Designer for Film & TV, specializing in period graphics and typography. She is a graduate of the University of Vermont and the Rhode Island School of Design. After spending five years as a corporate graphic designer, she discovered Graphic Design for Film & TV and moved to New York, where she has now worked on Amazon’s “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” and Apple TV’s “Extrapolations.” Leah is inspired by the craftsmanship, character, and beauty of midcentury and art deco design and aspires to capture such elements in her own work.

Stockade Works believes that film, media, and tech should be accessible for all people. If an accessibility offering such as American Sign Language Interpretation, live captioning, audio descriptions or a post event transcript would aid in your participation, please let us know.
