On Thursday, July 28th, 2022, Stockade Works celebrated 5 years of building relationships, supporting creators, and most importantly, #makelocalwork – growing a thriving media industry in the Hudson Valley that first and foremost benefits the local people who live here!
Joining us at Arrowood Farms, so many Stockade Works supporters, friends, and graduates gathered to commemorate this milestone. It was a pleasure seeing over 300 new and familiar faces from near and far that support our mission here in the Hudson Valley, (quite literally!) rain or shine. Our celebration from beginning to end was a beautiful symbol of the transformative journey the past five years have been, not only for Stockade Works, but also for the ever-growing film and television industry.
Since 2016, productions are shooting in the Hudson Valley at unprecedented rates. We have had 15 unique training programs, including four annual Crew Boot Camps and numerous Workshops ranging from Hair & Makeup and Costume & Wardrobe to Production Accounting and Set Building. We have trained hundreds of graduates, many of whom are working steadily in the industry in professional jobs such as Production Assistant, Construction Grip, Payroll Accountant, Director’s Assistant, Assistant Camera, Editor, and Hair and Makeup Assistant. Additionally, we have partnered with organizations across the region to promote Career Awareness and foster a creative economy here in the Hudson Valley, ensuring people can work where they live and live where they work. Stockade Works’ mission has always been to further the potential of film, television, and tech in the Hudson Valley. At its core, we believe that every individual should have opportunities for well-paying jobs with avenues for growth. And, as our network has grown, we have met so many charitable people who want to see more of this impact.
We are so grateful to everyone who came out to celebrate with us and help us not only raise money for the Stockade Works’ Scholarship Fund, but surpass our fundraising goal. Scholarships ensure no one is ever turned away from a chance to work in TV/Film due to financial barriers, and that we can offer over 80% of our trainees full or partial tuition discounts.
To our Host Committee and sponsors, you helped make this possible. Thank you for your generosity and help in bringing this event to life.
To our graduates, we congratulate you for all you have achieved thus far and thank you for being a part of our journey. We cannot wait to see what you will do in the future.
To all our attendees, thank you for being a part of this special milestone.
Our anniversary is not only to celebrate our community and its achievements but to express our excitement for growth and change to come. To have the ability to provide even more opportunities through collaboration with our community partners, new workshops and boot camps for eager trainees, and a place to continue to support them.
If you would like to donate to the Stockade Works Scholarship Fund, you can do so here!
Coming up this Fall is a Production Payroll Workshop in September, a Professional Speaker Series, a Graduate Connection event, and many other projects that are currently in development.
We are so grateful for your support in advancing our efforts to #makelocalwork and we hope to see you at our next event.
