LEARN HOW TO WORK IN A FILM/TV SOUND DEPARTMENT
Two and a half day workshop led by sound professionals Jan McLaughlin, Julie Stalker-Wilde and Teferra McKenzie.
Through hands-on learning with industry standard sound equipment, participants will create sound projects of their own, and develop a working knowledge of set protocols expected of professionals on TV/film sets. Students will also learn tips and tricks on how to get and keep a job, the benefits of joining and creating an audio community, as well as professional audio societies and union memberships.
Upon successful completion of this intensive, participants will be referable for sound utility positions on upcoming non-union film productions. Scholarships provided.
Pre-requisites: Stockade Works is particularly seeking diverse members of the community and women who are typically precluded from jobs in the film production sector. No experience is necessary. In order to attend workshops participants must be 18 years of age or older.
