Stockade Works Completes its Pilot Crew Boot Camp

CLOSED

For three whirlwind weeks in July, participants in the very first Stockade Works Crew Boot Camp worked alongside industry professionals to learn key positions on a film set and then put those skills to the test during a low-budget independent film shoot entitled, “The Rest of Us.”

Out of over 150 online applications, 23 participants were selected to take part in our pilot crew boot camp with graduates placed in assistant positions on the three-week film shoot produced right here in the Hudson Valley.

Stockade Work boot campers (dubbed our beloved “booties”) were put to the test during the filming of “The Rest of Us,” a story set in the spring of 2001 against the backdrop of 9/11 and a contagion of suicides on a university campus.

Our boot campers stepped up to the challenge, supporting all the departments on a film set including production, assistant director, camera, art, wardrobe, sound, grip and electric.  We couldn’t be more proud of our booties – they worked hard through long days of filming during some hot summer days here in the Hudson Valley, taking in a ton of information while having fun and making some great connections along the way.
